John Glenn - Director / Sales Manager
John is one of the directors of Cool Awnings and is the Sales Manager. He and his wife, Kylie, purchased Cool Awnings on 17th August 2007. John loves meeting people and thrives in the sales role.
John was born in Auckland and has lived and worked in California, London and Sydney. He has a long history of driving trucks and buses, but in more recent times has been the Dispatch Manager for a freight forwarding company before moving into the Import Sea-freight Manager role. John then decided he wanted to be a business owner, so purchased a bread run in 2006.
After learning a bit about contracting and business, he built the business up by 25% and decided to try something more challenging, so they purchased Cool Awnings. John and Kylie have a young son and daughter, a cat and a dog, and John enjoys reading and soccer and dreams of seeing the Football World Cup live.
Kylie Glenn - CEO
Kylie, along with her husband John, is a director of Cool Awnings and she is responsible for the financial and marketing side of the business.
Kylie was born in Auckland and has a Degree in Environmental Science. She spent three years working for a large tree removal company arranging planting and landscaping projects, and then spent 6 years as a horticultural field officer and auditor before going on maternity leave.
Kylie feels she has learnt a lot about business in the time they have owned Cool Awnings and feel that she and John make a great team as they have different skills that complement each other and they communicate well.
Kylie and John have a young son and a baby girl. She enjoys gardening, renovating houses and travelling.
Jayshri Patel - Production Manager
Jayshri is our Production Manager and is responsible for managing workflow and coordinating installations. She has been with Cool Awnings since 2008, and held a sales role with us until September 2011.
Jayshri was born in Gujurat, India and arrived in New Zealand as a baby. She has her citizenship and considers herself a bona fide Kiwi. Jay has over 20 years customer service experience and enjoys interacting with people and helping them gain satisfaction by supplying them with what they want.
Jayshri enjoys and trains in martial arts inspite of the bumps and bruises. She also enjoys travelling to new places and meeting the locals.
Jane Anderson - Office Manager
Jane is the Office Manager and is responsible for customer service,
accounts and assisting the sales and production teams. She started with Cool Awnings
in August 2007.
Jane was born in New Zealand and has worked in the Marine industry prior to starting with Cool Awnings.
Jane enjoys reading, gardening and walking.
Matti John - Canvas Fabricator
Matti is the Awning Fabricator and is responsible for the production of awning skins, drop curtains and covering fixed frame awnings. He has been with Cool Awnings since 2011.
Matti was born in Rarotonga and is trained in upholstery. After 15 years working on aeroplane upholstery he decided it was time for a change. Matti is married with 5 kids and enjoys rugby league, cycling and other sports.
Marcus French - Installation Team Leader
Marcus is our Installion Team Leader and is responsible for all the installations and site checks. He is a trade qualified builder. He has been with Cool Awnings since May 2011.
Marcus was born in England and has spent some time working in Europe and has been repairing leaky homes prior to starting work at Cool Awnings.
Marcus has a partner and two young children, and is an active coastguard volunteer.
Nigel Rayment - Welder, Installer
Nigel comes to us with 9 years awning experience in welding, assembly and installation. Nigel works alongside the team when required to install awnings. Nigel has a stainless steel fabrication background and enjoys fishing.
Nigel is married and has been with Cool Awnings since 2012.
Peter Kake - Assembly/Dispatch/Installer
Peter is training as our assembler and dispatcher and will be responsible for assembling the awnings and completing dispatch orders to our trade customers around the country. Peter also carries out installations and onsite repairs. Peter has a great attitude, is very friendly and keen to assist and has been with Cool Awnings since October 2011.
Taiwan Vili - Installer
Tai is our is our installer and works with Marcus. Tai has strong leadership skills and has good product knowledge of awnings assembly and installation.
Taiwan enjoys playing and watching rugby and has been with Cool Awnings since 2009.
Glenn French - MagicSeal/Installer
Glenn is our is our MagicSeal manufacturer and assists with installs where required. He has done awning assembly, dispatch, cleaning and is learning to weld.
Glenn is married with two sons.
Glenn has been with Cool Awnings since 2009.
Walter Glennie - Sales Representative/Installer
Walter has a mixed roll including sales and installations. He is responsible for onsite consultations with both residential and commercial clients. Walter is an engineer and has experience in many different areas of life including running his own business, and specialises in shade sails and tension canopies. Walter has more than 12 years experience in the awning industry. He works alongside the team manufacture and install awnings and shade sails.
Walter has been with Cool Awnings since September 2011.
